Why would my client experience heat spikes?

Modified on Thu, 18 Apr at 4:51 PM

Heat spikes or exothermic reaction is the initial thickening or curing of any gel product. It is perfectly normal so clients should be advised prior to putting their hands in the lamp. Nail plates that are thin or damaged can experience a strong heat sensation. It is normal for it to get warm but if they should feel anything untoward to remove their hand from the lamp. Always pre-warn clients to manage their exceptions so they know how to cope if it does happen. Main cause of heat spikes is weak damage/thin nail plates or gel product being applied too thickly in layers. Showing the hand to the lamp can reduce the sensation. As recommended by leading nail experts you should use the lamp that coincides with the brand of gels that you are using. Our lamp produced in conjunction with SUNUV, was optimised to work with our gels and has a low heat setting over 99 seconds. With this setting it can greatly reduce/eliminate this sensation.
